After lying to us for a month and telling us we passed the financial qualifications and got the apartment, they called to let us know our application was denied today. We were supposed to be moving in on the 31st of May. Then it was the 4th. Then it was âwe donât have any updates.â It is now the 14th of June. They told us we make $54k a year. We barely make $30k together. Before this, they changed our unit number without informing us three times. We had a meeting with them last Friday at 4pm. We planned our entire day around this meeting just to get there at 4 for them to tell us the office was closed and the woman we were meeting with wasnât there. No phone call or email. Zero communication. In fact, they never answer the phone and do not respond to emails at all. I planned an over 2,000 mile move around the 31st move in date we were given. I did not act prematurely. I waited until the last possible minute to get everything in order to make sure we actually got the apartment. THEY TOLD US WE DID. Now my things are sitting in storage at a U-Haul facility, Iâm going to have to pay for storage, AND now we are homeless. I am chronically ill and disabled. My disability benefits are entirely dependent on where I live. In order to move and keep the Medicaid and income THAT IS KEEPING ME ALIVE transferred to Washington state, I had to tell SSI my new address. Now I donât have one. Iâm going to have to contact my Medicaid office and ssi again. I have mail that was sent to the unit they promised us and some of it has been returned because they gave that unit, which WE PAID THEM TO HOLD FOR US, to someone else. Weâre going to have to contact our internet provider and see if we can change the address for our wifi or cancel service all together. I CANNOT finish getting my Medicaid transferred until I have an address. I have epilepsy among other things. Iâm out of refills on my seizure medication. I canât get more refills until I see a neurologist here and I canât get a neurologist in Washington state until my medicaid transfer is complete. My Medicaid transfer wonât be complete until I have an address to give the Medicaid office. When I run out of my life sustaining medications and begin having seizures again, I can thank Heatherstone.
Update on 9/11/24: itâs been two months since they responded telling me a DiReCt CoNvErSaTiOn would be the most âeffectiveâ way to handle thisð. I did contact them â two months ago â at the email address they provided. No response. I guess thatâs the direct conversation they were talking about for PRâs sake. Thankfully, my partner and I have found a much better place for around the same rentâºï¸.
